Michael Hennessy to helm CMPA

Telus exec Michael Hennessy is joining the Canadian Media Production Association as president and CEO, effective June 18, 2012.

Hennessy takes over from the outgoing president and CEO Norm Bolen.

Over the past 25 years, he’s leveraged his background in communications to help shape the evolution of public policy and regulation in telecommunications, broadcasting, Internet and wireless in both the public and private sectors.

Most recently, Hennessy served as SVP, regulatory and government affairs at Telus where he was responsible for the overall direction of the company’s regulatory and advocacy strategies across multiple business lines.
